Full Job Description

It is the Test Lead's responsibility for the management of testing and testing defects on projects being carried out within the IT function, aligned to the Test Strategy and Plan.
Key Accountabilities include:

  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of each release and/or project

  • Deploying and managing resources for testing

  • Applying the appropriate test measurements and ensuring adherence to Sellafield testing standards and procedures

  • Planning, deploying and managing the testing effort to support successful testing acceptance and successful integration of multiple test plans into an overall test approach and plan

  • Consistent in delivering to agreed quality standards, whilst maintaining a good working relationship with all project team members

  • Coordinate testing across multiple suppliers and integrating supplier test plans into an overall plan.

    To thrive in this role you will need, we are looking for someone with the following background and skills…


  • Previous experience as Test Lead, Senior Test Analyst or Test Coordinator on IT projects

  • Experience/understanding of the full software development lifecycle with knowledge of Scrum/Agile practices

  • Computer literate and the ability to discuss high level technical and business requirements

  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with complex and technical problems and solutions and to communicate them in a summarised manner

  • Capable of handling multiples projects / initiatives simultaneously and executing to completion

  • Experience in translating strategies into actionable plans

  • Experience of using testing tools to record test specification steps and defects


  • You may also have:
  • Holder of an ISTQB certified testing qualification

  • Previous experience of performing the same role specific to IT project delivery

  • Previous experience of managing testing utilising Application Lifecycle Manager (previously known as HPQC) Degree level qualification in a relevant technology subject
