Full Job Description

The Test Manager will be running a team to deliver live testing across the BT Business corporate unit. You will drive quality testing, acting as the last line of defence to ensure software solutions meet a high standard, enabling release of software to real users generating revenue for the BT Business.

You will also drive the team to ensure quality testing standards are adhered to, delivering own test execution, input into test initiatives to improve how testing is performed/reported and will be expected to support BT's wider quality assurance transformational activities, such as driving higher adoption of test automation and improving the overall test/software lifecycle in general.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage a small team of Live Testers made up of both UK staff and third-party partners.

  • Perform line management responsibilities for any UK based staff in the QA team.

  • Manage senior stakeholders to discuss testing asks and be face of unit.

  • Ensure quality testing across for BT Business sector in line with customer requirements, quality standards and budget.

  • Drive adoption of automated testing where possible.

  • Implement and evolve the testing methods/models for the Live Test area to improve process where possible.

  • Support the wider test teams in line with QA best practice.

  • Manage and contribute to controlling test budget ensuring test activities are funded and do not go over spend.

  • Manage and track QA teams work via BT's strategic toolset i.e. JIRA

    Required

  • Experience as a Test Manager, or ISEB accredited in Quality Assurance and ready to step into a Test Manager role.

  • Test experience across entire test lifecycle, including execution, design, and strategy.


  • Desired
  • Vendor Management experience within BT.

  • Understanding/Awareness of CFU/LOB product and or OSS/BSS stack.
