Full Job Description

As a result of some exciting programme wins, we currently have a permanent vacancy for an Test Manager/Architect to support the development & transition to in-service running of a new IT application and infrastructure solution providing support to a critical operational end user. The preferred candidate will be responsible for delivery of the Test Strategy whilst providing test improvement and optimisation. They will demonstrate effective application of Test Management expertise advocating test capabilities across a variety of technologies and Platforms. The role will provide technical exposure variance across both outcomes based project activities and Operational (Business as Usual) support activities. Your passions and experience will help you become a technical specialist and process owner with our Operations Support services including service improvement and add further value to our service offerings. Working in collaboration with the stakeholders you will be expected to devise the test objectives and strategies to build and lead the test team to support the project work or the operational support service. We are looking for someone with a passion for Test, ideally from a Systems Integration background. You will be self-motivated and be able to work autonomously to achieve day to day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables. Whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPIs and SLAs. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues. You must also demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges. The successful individual will be responsible for:

  • Provide test architecture skills and produce and deliver the test strategy as part of the senior delivery team
  • Work with partner delivery teams to design and implement modern, scalable test plans using a range of new and emerging technologies including automation fit for a scaled agile delivery approach
  • Lead on all test management and acceptance aspects including setting standards and providing your deep technical expertise to Leidos programme teams
  • Utilise the concepts and principles of verification and validation to sign off relevant test plans across multiple subject areas
  • Collaborate with customers on all aspects of test management including the assurance and integration of infrastructure services to meet the needs of multiple lines of business
  • Recognise and exploit business opportunity by leveraging test architecture and test design best practice
  • Communicate effectively across organisational, technical and political boundaries, understanding the context

    We are looking for someone with excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills who has an excellent general knowledge of testing methodologies and tooling frameworks:
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills;
  • Understanding of agile, scaled agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery cycles;
  • End to End Test Management experience;
  • A good understanding of non-functional testing;
  • A good general knowledge of test automation in particular the Robot Framework and its application;
  • Strong team building skills;
  • Strong influencing skills;
  • Experience in Risk Based Testing techniques;
  • Experience of implementation and management of Go To Green plans;
  • Excellent management of schedules and milestones;
  • Have excellent analysis and problem solving skills, taking ownership of complex incidents ensuring these are resolved to the satisfaction of the customer;
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Management certified would be preferred
