Textile Designer

Supporting the Design Manager, the Designer is responsible for supporting and assisting with all aspects of Design Projects. You will be working with the Design Manager on projects from starting concepts to final products. Working as a team and collaboratively is key to this role as you will interact with design teams and suppliers across the world. The role involves a high level of inspiration and creativity along with an eye for detail. Ability to draw and create artwork is essential using a variety of skills from painting/drawing/linocut/printing etc. This is a hands-on role, and you will need to be forward thinking and inspire creative ideas. This is a fully office-based role at the PT headquarters working in the design and marketing department., · Design work: Formatting designs into repeats and setting up the files for colour work to. Preparing the files to a format suitable for the relevant printers/mills using Photoshop or AVA. Working both independently and as a team to develop collections

· Colouring: Colouring the collections from the initial stage of colour trend research through to colouring the designs in Photoshop/AVA

· Drawing: Developing designs in house using a variety of techniques whilst keeping in mind the PT brand and handwriting and developing the drawings/paintings into commercial print ready designs

· Research: Researching trends within the interiors industry as well as the wider market including fashion, to cover designs inspiration, colour inspiration and general market trends

· Organising Collections: liaising with mills and agents to develop collections and completing amends/approvals as samples arrive

· Input into design meetings, reviews, and supplier meetings

· Selecting products and artworks

· Researching and Producing trend packs and sales booklets.

· Admin for studio, general organisation of the studio, copyrights

· Maintenance of the printer

Minimum 1year industry experience ideally in the interior textiles industry or similar

- Strong graphic and digital design skills

- Creative textile degree or similar

- Excellent communication skills

- Team player

- Design flair and ability to draw and create artwork

- Proficient in using photoshop and ava

- Excellent use of colour and knowledge of colour
