Full Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. There is an opportunity for current BA and MA Textiles students to work as Workshop Facilitators at the upcoming January Welcome event for new and returning students. You will be working with other workshop assistants, along with Enrolment & Events staff, to facilitate a creative and mindful craft workshop focused on punch-needle tufting. A briefing and all equipment will be provided. Duties will include:

  • Assisting in pre-workshop preparation
  • Helping to lead delivery of workshop, teaching new and returning students simple punch-needle textile techniques
  • Acting as a friendly face for new and returning students
  • Liaising with staff where required to ensure smooth running of event, Manchester Metropolitan University is committed to supporting the rights, responsibilities, dignity, health and wellbeing of staff and students through our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

    Current student of BA (Hons) Textiles in Practice or MA Textiles
  • Confidence to teach a skill to others, including students from non-creative backgrounds
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Desirable:
  • Experience facilitating a creative workshop
  • Experience with punch-needle tufting
