The Hundred of Hoo Academy are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who will assist in the support and inclusion of SEN and EAL pupils within the Secondary Phase of the school. Working within a class, our successful candidates will join a well-established team of Teaching Assistants who provide appropriate one-to-one support for an individual pupil, or a small group of pupils within class of any ability and in any curriculum area.

Our successful candidate will provide support for pupils who have a range of specific needs; an opportunity to make a real difference to their development. Applicants should be adaptable, personable and committed to providing an excellent service on behalf of the school and wider Trust, and above all else our appointed candidate will have a positive work ethic and can-do attitude.

We pride ourselves on our digital offer to our pupils and in being at the forefront of digital development within our curriculum offer. All of our pupils have access to their very own Chromebook which enables them to take ownership over their own learning and means that they are able to challenge themselves further. The Chromebooks are an integral part of our teaching and learning at the academy meaning that we are shaping the future for our children in the digital age. This also means that our staff have access to a wealth of digital training opportunities and will gain certification in Google as well as in many other digital tools.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust: As of 1 September 2024, our Trust comprises 33 geographically organised academies (17 secondaries, 14 primaries and two special) educating more than 24,000 students and employing 4,000 talented staff. Nearly 40% of our academies are judged outstanding overall by Ofsted, versus 15% nationally. The Trust is establishing three 'clusters' of academies: LAT West; LAT Central; LAT North. In addition, the Trust is responsible for one of the region's biggest initial teaching training organisations, a large teaching school hub and is an accredited apprenticeship provider.

This is a permanent opportunity offering an actual salary of £16,457 pa (£24,404 full-time equivalent), working 29.17 hours per week, term time plus one week of inset. The working hours will be Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.00pm with a 40 minute unpaid break.
