The pub

If you could design the optimum pub, you'd create a large car park to fill with guests, an imposing front entrance into a gorgeous, open space with enough seats for everyone to eat and drink comfortably in the bar, next to a roaring fire or a cosy corner. You'd have space for functions and a recently refurbished commercial kitchen to cater for all. In the summer you'd want a light and inviting conservatory leading out to the most beautifully planted garden with a play area for the children and a covered area to shelter from the spring showers.

You'd have an amazing food offer that delivered on country classics for lazy days in the garden in the sun, or comforting, warming plates if you didn't go for the epic Sunday Roast. You'd want an eclectic range of beers, gins, and cocktails to compliment the food or for if you just fancied calling in for a pint with your dog. You'd design the Ship!

The location

You will find Elswick village steeped in history just off the A585. With a fresh multi-sports area and recreational facilities, the village has contemporary appeal enveloped in history with the Gothic church and spire. These are situated adjacent to the 17th Century nonconformist chapel, which is known to be the oldest in the county. The Ship is one of only two village pubs and the area is well-known for Bond's ice cream.

We understand how important it is for a Management Company to completely own their own team.

We love to engage Management Companies that help us create pub legacies that stand the test of time and become the hub of their community. We get that every pub has its own distinct character, so our Operations Manager will work closely with the Management Company to understand the true identity of the business, we can then help support and amplify this as part of the Management Partnership model.
