Full Job Description
Responsible for the operational management of all specialities relating to the Private Care activities within the Theatre Department and to be the interface between the Private Care administration and bookings team and the Theatre Department., Ensure staffing levels & skill mix is based on the needs of the service taking into account the requirements of the theatre service as a whole
Work alongside the Divisional Leadership Team and Theatre manager to optimise TheatreUtilisation for Private Care services. Ensure all staff have an understanding of their role and responsibilities and are able to provide a safe, competent and cost effective service
Be overall responsible for speciality; ensuring that each sub-speciality has adequate leadership.
Collate and analyse information within the specialist field as requested by the Theatre Manager or the Divisional Leadership team and, if required, present these findings at working groups/professional advisory committees
Deputise for the other Clinical Managers in their absence if required by the Theatre Manager.
Advise the Theatre Manager where changes in practice adversely affect service delivery or fail to optimise the best use of resource
Attend meetings relevant to the speciality (including regular MDT meetings) ensuring the Theatre Manager receives feedback from these forums.
Assist the Practice Educators in the co-ordination and ongoing development of new techniques and equipment
Ensure optimum use of theatre time, identifying any constraints and taking action where appropriate keeping the Shift Co-Ordinator and Theatre Manager informed at all times
