Full Job Description

Band 6 Theatre team leader to be responsible for the delivering of safe and effective clinical practice whilst managing and supporting a team of staff

Enhancing the patient's experience with regular and constructive communication

Managing and developing the performance of a team of theatre staff.

Ensuring effective contribution to the delivery of the organization's objectives, whilst ensuring efficient and effective use of resources

Main duties of the job

To ensure safe and effective clinical practice.

Ensure the planning and delivery of care is aligned to professional values.

Promote a clean and safe environment for staff, patients, and visitors.

Report incidents and near misses promptly and appropriately.

Manage a theatre area / client group to ensure all statutory standards and Trustprocedures are implemented and always maintained.

Contribute to the planning of duty rota's and organise annual leave in such away as to ensure continuity of care and safety for patients and staff.

Ensure an effective and efficient patient's journey by planning and coordinating the episode of care.

Act as the advocate for the patient ensuring safe and harm-free care is always uppermost in every decision.

To manage and develop the performance of the team and self.

Act as a positive role model, adhering to expected standards of behavior.

Support the appraisal process by ensuing that personal development plans are developed.

Report incidents and near misses promptly and appropriately.

Create and maintain a positive learning environment.

Support the learning and development of junior staff including supporting staff to achieve registration or revalidation.

Participate in recruitment and selection within own practice setting.

Participate in the management of sickness and absence within own practice area for a defined team.

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trustprovides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which commenced in 2021
