Full Job Description

Are you an experienced Support Worker who would like to expand your skills into endoscopy? Have you had decontamination experience and understand aseptic techniques? Do you want to develop your career your way? We have exciting opportunity for a motivated and caring individual to join our AfPP accredited Theatres Team as a Theatre Support Worker. You will work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team supporting a busy endoscopy list. This role is ideally suited to an enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker who has a the ability to build a rapport with patients in a short period of time, and who is looking to progress their career in a clinical environment that will support your ongoing professional development to help you operate at your fullest potential. The hours of work will be 07:45 - 17:45 between Monday and Friday. Role Responsibilities As a Theatre Support Worker in Endoscopy you will:

  • Prepare the endoscopy suite for procedures.
  • Collect patients for their procedures.
  • Support and monitor patients during their procedures.
  • Assist with the care, labelling and transportation of specimens.
  • Clean, decontaminate and maintain all endoscopic equipment., Take reassurance from knowing that your interviewer can often be as nervous as you. Be polite, honest and open, maintaining eye contact with them. Talk as clearly and confidently as you can and if you don't understand a question, ask for clarification. When answering, focus on positive experiences and be prepared to go into detail about your previous positions and your future aspirations.

    Essential
  • A good standard of general education including Maths and English
  • Experience working in Theatres or a Decontamination Unit
  • Excellent communication skills
  • An excellent attention to detail
  • Desirable
  • A care certificate or NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Experience working as a Support worker in Endoscopy or an Outpatient Department.
