Full Job Description

We are looking for a Theatre technician to join our team at City and Islington Sixth Form College. Your primary responsibility will be to support the work of students and teachers of the Performing and Visual Arts Department and to respond to requests to organise, set up and operate wider college events and activities throughout the year. City and Islington Sixth Form College is a well-established and over-subscribed specialist A-level centre. We are situated on one site at Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the capital to learn with us. We have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students' confidence and skills and this post makes a key contribution to that work.

  • Relevant degree

  • Experience of working with 16-19-year-olds

  • Experience of the working mechanisms of theatre and music performance including operation of projection cues, light and sound equipment, rigging, lighting and programming.

  • Experience of using relevant software such as QLAB, Final Draft, Ion Desk, EOS Family software, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, video editing software, sound editing software, Logic Pro, maintaining performing art space and theatre equipment/ resources


  • Expertise in filming and recording sound on Sony 4K camera- able to convert files to be sent to exam board
