Full Job Description

Our inpatient CAMHS service (Mildred Creak Unit) is expanding! We are looking for Mental Health, Paediatric, Learning Disability registered nurses and Healthcare Assistants with CAMHS experience to be part of our growth.

Working within a therapeutic environment, you will work within a team of nurses and multidisciplinary team. You will acknowledge the importance of every interaction with a young person as an opportunity to be therapeutic. Therefore, adaptability and flexibility of your communication and organisational skills and style is a must. You will support a structured routine for young people, offering containment to the family and young people while enjoying an autonomy to encourage greater collaboration and empowerment opportunities in their treatment journey.

As a staff member within the service, you will benefit from a structured timetable (e.g. regular meetings, which include nurse led teaching, group discussion, MDT meetings and teachings and team reflective meetings). You will also be supported with facilitated group nursing support sessions and monthly individual supervision., The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a caring, friendly and safe environment for children and their families on the Mildred Creak Unit. As a member of the nursing team, the post holder will participate in planning, reviewing and carrying out treatment packages for individual children. The post holder will take a role in maintaining the Unit programme under supervision.

With support from the Unit team, ensure that all children who pose a risk to others, themselves or the environment are kept safe at all times, following Unit and Trust policies as necessary.

DEVELOPMENT

The post holder will establish and maintain relationships with colleagues, uphold teamwork at all times and attendall staff training opportunities to ensure educational and clinical skills are kept up-to-date.

Maintain a high quality learning environment by providing support and direction for students on placement in the Unit and participate in their education and training.

Participate in the Unit's appraisal system, clinical supervision and nurse support group, constantly evaluating your own knowledge and experience in the field and areas for development.
