Full Job Description
The Family Time & Intervention Service is looking to recruit 2 part time permanent Family Time & Intervention Officers (18.5 hrs pw). You will be required to work mainly after school peak hours and some weekends.
The Family Time & Intervention Service forms part of the Safeguarding & Corporate Social Work teams, allowing for close working relationship with social work colleagues.
The successful candidates will be part of a busy team within Walsall Council offering high quality contact for children, who are looked after by the Local Authority, and their families. We use a number of venues for the supervised contact, including the family home or within the community.
Do you have experience working with and have the ability to undertake direct work with children and families, in a variety of roles, are you committed to continuous improvement; people focused and have a 'can-do' attitude. Are you flexible in your approach and working hours? And do you hold an NVQ 3 (or higher) in Social Care or the equivalent relevant health, education, early years or social care qualification/experience.
You will work under the guidance of Service manager & Assistant Team manager and case-holding social workers, providing support tailored to the needs of the family. We currently have 2 part time vacancy available, this is an exciting time to join the service and we welcome all interested applicants.
For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
