Full Job Description

We are looking for 2 enthusiastic Receptionist staff to undertake responsibility for maintaining the security of the reception area. You will act as the first point of contact for visitors and liaison with the unit teams. The shift patterns include weekend work. About the team: The reception team consists the Therapeutic Security Team, including the Head of Reception and a number of receptionists on the rota.Main duties of the job The post holder is required to ensure that the maintenance and monitoring procedures are implemented for the physical security components of the service. The post holder will contribute to the dissemination and review of security procedures. Electronically carry out regular checks of security keys ensuring that all checks are recorded and discrepancies are reported Provide information and advice to a range of professionals with different needs - ward staff, patients, professional visitors, carers and contractors. Conduct physical searches of personnel and belongings prior to entering the ward - visitors, carers, patients and contractors. The post holder will assist with the co-ordination of actions in the event of a fire or similar emergency situation. The post holder will ensure the perimeter of the unit is safe and secure by performing frequent perimeter checks on a daily basis. Escorting patients returning from section 17 leave back to the ward when required To support staff in their use of the key management system. Assist staff in theevent of problems by making use of the Traka technical support line. Ensure that the key management system is operated in accordance with the River House Key Management Protocol including producing regular key checks and Ascom handset audits. Post Holders may be asked to provide driving services for the Forensic Service, if needed.
