Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, forward thinking Social Worker to work within our Youth and Justice Service. We are a Service of around 100 workers, committed to achieving the best outcomes for our children and young people through advocacy and empowerment. We deliver services with the young person at the centre and ensure that their voices are integral to all that we do. We develop our services with our young people. We are part of the Children and Families Department at Leicestershire County Council and we are rated "Outstanding" by Ofsted., Due to a long-standing member of the current team retiring, we are looking for a Therapeutic Social Worker who will continue to drive forward direct work with children around harmful sexual behaviour (HSB). The successful candidate will have significant experience of completing AIM3 assessments and the delivery of interventions in line with assessments, such as the Good Lives Model. This therapeutic intervention will be delivered to children and young people as directed by the Youth Court. The role has a combination of direct delivery of interventions to children and their families, along with developing the Youth Justice Harmful Sexual Behaviour Pathway. This would include deepening Service understanding and delivery around technology assisted HSB and sexual harm against siblings. You would have a small caseload of children and young people. You may be required to attend Youth Court as a subject matter specialist to provide advice to the Court for which full training will be provided. As a service, there is a growing demand for work around HSB and this post would complement a number of already AIM3 trained workers within the Service. If you are making the transition from Social Work into Youth Justice, we will provide you with the full training required to make this move successfully. We support and empower our staff to be the best that they can be. A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
