Full Job Description

Do you have experience of working with children and young people with co-existing social, emotional and mental health issues?
Our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team in Lichfield is looking to recruit a Therapy Assistant Practitioner.
You will be skilled in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of therapy packages under the direction of a registered practitioner. You will be working with children and families with moderate to severe learning disabilities up to the age of 18 years with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychosocial conditions
You will support in discharge planning, carrying out environmental visits, ordering equipment, liaising with family and other agencies as required.
You will use your own skills, knowledge and judgement to recognise any change in the needs of the CYP, take into account a range of care / support/ therapy packages and feedback to the registered practitioner as required.
You will support the participation of children and young people as delegated by the therapist, working without direct supervision and being responsible for reporting on progress and reporting back to the therapist., + To adhere to relevant guidance from the Trust. To be aware of the Health and Care Professions Council's (HCPC) guidance/codes of conduct

Assistant Practitioner does not require daily supervision and should be able to take responsibility for their work within pathways of care.
+ To report back patient progress and inform the therapist of any problems.
+ To support the registered practitioner in the preparation and delivery of care including any administrative duties.
+ To undertake specific skilled interventions work with children and families with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychosocial conditions, ensuring most efficient use of skills, time and resources.
+ To support AHP's in their role as required and based on service need.
+ To support in discharge planning, carrying out environmental visits, ordering equipment, liaising with family and other agencies as required.
+ To use own skills, knowledge and judgement to recognise any change in the needs of the CYP , take into account a range of care / support/ therapy packages and feedback to the registered practitioner as required.
