Full Job Description

Birmingham Children's Hospital is a designated Paediatric Major Trauma Centre for the West Midlands, forming part of the Midlands Trauma Network. Children and young people who sustain major trauma injuries require specialist care that can be provided within the Major Trauma Centre. Patients require a managed transition from admission to rehabilitation and the community.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Major Trauma team which is led by Clinical Lead for Major Trauma. You will be responsible to the Lead for Major Trauma Coordination. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Major Trauma team working across all areas of Birmingham Children's Hospital supporting patients and families with a wide variety of traumatic injuries.

The post holder will work as part of the Therapy assistant team and will be expected to show leadership, strong interpersonal & communication skills to work effectively within the multi-disciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills, being able to interact with a variety of programmes. They will need to be able to keep calm under pressure, with the ability to problem solve and use own initiative. They will have a flexible approach to work, be able to communicate effectively with the members of the major trauma team, wider hospital teams and Major Trauma Network.
