Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, driven and dynamic individual to join the therapy in-patient therapy team at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Therapy Assistant Practitioner.

This post offers the opportunity to work with a team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist and other therapy assistants, providing highly effective therapy treatment for patients attending and admitted to the Bradford Royal Infirmary.

We deliver patient care predominately across wards at the BRI but we do also provide therapy within A&E, peoples homes and in clinic settings.

The successful applicant will have experience as a therapy assistant and have an interest in provision of therapy in the acute setting.

Individuals will be committed to personal development and engage in training programmes.

They will be supported by a team of therapists to develop their existing clinical skills, through comprehensive shadowing and competency assessment and training programmes. They will have regular supervision to support and develop clinical reasoning to become independent practitioners taking responsibility for their own caseload, To deliver a high standard of health care supporting both Occupational therapists and Physiotherapists, together with the wider MDT, to assess, plan and implement a range of therapeutic interventions to improve the physical, cognitive and functional ability, mood and well-being of patients.

To undertake assessments and treatments for both physiotherapy and occupational therapy independently.

To facilitate safe and timely discharge from hospital.

To manage and prioritise own caseload delegated by qualified therapists, evaluating and adapting interventions.

To contribute to team and service development.

To contribute to training andsupport to other team members and students.
