Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 3 Therapy Support Worker to join our Parkinson's Therapy MDT team at NUH NHS Trust on a permanent basis - there is a full time role .
The roles will be 37.5 hours Monday to Friday. Cover on a Wednesday will be required until 8pm to support group work in an off site location within Nottingham. The successful candidate will also be required to join a rota system to cover weekend and bank holidays. Part-time hours/job share will also be considered at a minimum of 18.75 hours per employee.
You will work under the supervision and guidance of registered therapists within the multidisciplinary team to provide therapy assessment and rehabilitation to patients with Parkinson's disease in an OP setting. This will be a mixture of individual appointments and group sessions and will support the work of the registered staff in the team across Physio, OT and SLT.
The majority of the work takes place at city campus but you will be expected to be able to work at both sites and potentially in community settings to meet service needs as required., You will mostly work alongside a registered therapist in an OP setting providing an integrated rehabilitation approach which includes exercise therapy, mobility intervention, functional transfers , falls prevention, equipment provision, mental health work including anxiety management, being able to promote safety, wellbeing and independence within essential activities of daily living as well as gathering information from patients, relatives and carers. You will also be required to provide speech and language rehabilitation and support. There are numerous groups occurring during the week that will require support worker attendance.
You will need excellent communication skills to work with our patients, their relatives and carers and with the wider MDT.
