We are a friendly team providing Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Dietetic, and Speech & Language Therapy input to the Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP) wards across Nottinghamshire.
We are committed to providing person-centred, recovery-focussed care with compassion. If that's something you want to do too, then we would love you to join our team!
This role supports the provision of therapeutic interventions to patients on our dementia and mental health wards. The post is based at Blossomwood (formerly Millbrook Mental Health Unit), which is currently undergoing an exciting redevelopment.
We actively support career development opportunities and can offer you:
+ training and support to complete role-based competencies
+ regular clinical supervision
+ annual appraisal, with regular reviews to support you to achieve your goals
+ bi-monthly Support Workers Forum, The Technical Instructor works as part of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to provide person centred assessment and treatment interventions, considering the physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their carers. This may be on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting, under the guidance and direction of registered therapists.

We are looking for someone who is motivated and who can motivate others, who shows empathy and kindness, and who is willing to go the extra mile to support their patients and their colleagues. Previous experience as a Technical Instructor is not essential for this role. However, you must have a good understanding of the needs of older people and of people living with dementia or mental ill health, and how Occupational Therapy / Physiotherapy can support their recovery.
