Therapy Technical Instructor - Neurology

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our neuro therapy team as a Therapy Technical Instructor. Our team of support staff work collaboratively with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists to ensure the delivery of a high quality service for neuro patients on the stroke unit and outlying wards.
Some of the fantastic opportunities our Technical Instructors have include;
+ Teaching patients exercise programmes
+ Helping patients to walk and move
+ Assisting patients with their speech and language therapy programmes.
+ Working with patients to achieve as much independence as possible with washing/dressing/toileting tasks and with making hot drinks and meal preparation
+ Assisting and leading with group therapy sessions
+ Assisting the therapist during treatment sessions
+ Issuing mobility and functional equipment
+ Administrative tasks
We provide structured support to our staff through regular supervision and we encourage our staff to attend inhouse and external training to support them in their role., + To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients as delegated by the Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Speech and Language Therapist.
+ To accept patients referred by the Multi-disciplinary Team and relay all necessary information to the therapists to allow timely interventions.
To accept patients referred by a qualified Therapist, treat them according to set treatment protocols, monitor progression and make alterations, within agreed parameters.
+ Work is not always directly supervised but is evaluated and monitored daily. Access to qualified staff is always available if required. Patients progress to be reported back on a timely basis.
+ To assist in the administration and clerical duties of the team.
