Full Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as a Therapy Technical Instructor - Orthopaedics and Surgical wards. You will be expected to assist the Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering a high quality service for patients on the Surgical and orthopaedic wards in the hospital. This may involve:
+ Teaching patients exercise programmes
+ Helping patients to walk and move
+ Working with patients to achieve as much independence as possible with washing/dressing/toileting tasks and with making hot drinks and meal preparation
+ Assisting the therapist during treatment sessions
+ Issuing mobility and functional equipment
+ Administrative tasks, + To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients as delegated by the Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist
+ To accept patients referred by the Multi-disciplinary Team and relay all necessary information to the therapists to allow timely interventions.
+ To accept patients referred by a qualified Therapist, treat them according to set treatment protocols, monitor progression and make alterations, within agreed parameters.
+ Work is not always directly supervised but is evaluated and monitored daily. Access to qualified staff is always available if required. Patients progress to be reported back on a timely basis.
+ To assist in the administration and clerical duties of the team.
+ To develop and maintain competencies through Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

You should have previous experience in an acute care setting.
