Full Job Description

The Staff Thermal Design Engineer will:

  • Execute, provide guidance, and collaborate with GE Technical Experts on the design, analysis, and evaluation of design projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and LEAP product / program requirements
  • Document, prepare and present technical data and results in technical program reviews and internal and external customers.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work as well as mentor others
  • Provide timely communications to team members on significant issues or developments and promote open dialogue
  • Work on teams to lift up and support organizational initiatives

    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5 years experience in an engineering position, Demonstrated expertise in turbomachinery thermal design
  • Significant experience in the design, testing, and certification of turbomachinery
  • Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and principles
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization and provide guidance to engineers with less experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems with a sense of urgency

Join us., The GE Aerospace Engineering Team is looking for experienced thermal design engineers who are ready to work on the fastest growing engine in Aviation history, LEAP. The LEAP engine is a culmination of cutting-edge technology, world-class reliability and unparalleled performance, and is the engine of choice to power the Airbus A320neo, the Boeing 737 MAX, and the COMAC C919. LEAP's 15% reduction in fuel burn (over prior generation of narrowbody applications) is moving the needle on sustainability today and proving out the next generation of sustainable technologies like ceramic composites, advanced turbine cooling, and additive manufacturing.
