As a key member of LADbible Group's Client Solutions (Sales) team, the Sports Account Director will play an essential role in driving revenue across branded content, display, filters, influencer marketing and sponsorships, specifically in the sports sector. You will work with prominent clients including leading sports teams, brands and agencies, delivering tailored strategies that resonate with sports fans, leveraging LADbible's unique insights and reach within sports content. You will focus on developing and nurturing relationships with top-tiet sports brands and agencies, ensuring LADbible remains their trusted partner for driving fan engagement and innovative campaigns. What the opportunity looks like

  • Craft integrated sports-focused proposals that are innovative and tailored to meet the specific needs of sports brands and agencies. This involves close collaboration with internal teams, including Data, Intelligence, Creative, Project Management, Strategy, Marketing, and Category specialists, to create and deliver pitches focused on high-impact sports campaigns.
  • Be confident in pitching sports-focused solutions, both proactively and reactively, to meet client needs and win new business.
  • Exceed personal revenue targets and KPIs by winning and managing sports-related business, developing long-term partnerships with sports sponsors, teams, and agencies.
  • Build strong relationships with key sports industry clients, including football clubs, brands, and sports media, understanding their business objectives and translating that into tailored solutions.
  • Create smart sports insights around specific categories, products, and audiences, leveraging LADbible's sports content expertise to deliver market-leading solutions that address client needs.
  • Develop longer-term collaborations that integrate LADbible's sports properties and provide significant value to sports brands, including sponsorships, athlete activations, and branded content that resonates with sports fans.
  • Produce engaging sports case studies and award entries to enhance LADbible's reputation within the sports advertising space and showcase the effectiveness of our sports-focused campaigns.

    A strong background in sports marketing, demonstrating a deep understanding of the sports landscape, fan behavior, and how to craft campaigns that resonate with both hardcore and casual sports fans.
  • Experience working with sports brands and agencies, including knowledge of sports sponsorships, influencer marketing, and digital activations tailored to the sports sector.
  • Proven ability to create full-funnel sports-focused strategies that drive fan engagement and deliver strong commercial outcomes for clients.
  • Comfortable pitching to senior stakeholders across sports brands and agencies, with an ability to tailor proposals and insights to the unique needs of sports clients.
  • Knowledge of social platforms in a sports context, such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok, with an understanding of how sports brands can leverage these channels for effective fan engagement and campaign amplification.
  • A creative mindset with a passion for innovative sports marketing ideas and formats that can help sports brands connect with their audience in new and exciting ways.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit-always thinking of new ways to engage sports fans and provide value to clients, whether through new sports content formats or emerging platforms.
  • Deep knowledge of sports fan culture and how to tap into the emotional connection fans have with their teams, athletes, and sports moments to drive brand affinity and long-term loyalty.
