Three Month Fintech Internship - Desk Assistant (Unpaid)

We are a software company based in London, a startup whose primary products include various forms of software, software technology, distribution, and software product development for clients worldwide.

Despite being a startup, we have secured contracts in the local education sector, real estate, and e-commerce, providing end-to-end IT services for both software and hardware.

We are looking for a Desk Assistant Intern who will support our development and operations teams, gaining hands-on experience in the fintechsector. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Full Stack Developers and participate in various stages of the software development life cycle.

Assist in managing the complete software development process from conception to deployment for our online tutoring application.

Help maintain and upgrade the software following deployment.

Support the end-to-end lifecycle management for the production of software and applications.

Assist in overseeing and guiding the analysis, writing, building, and deployment of e-tutoring software.

Contribute to the automated testing process and provide feedback to management during the development of e-tutoring apps.

Help modify and test changes to previously developed programs for school projects.

Develop and maintain new API endpoints and front-end features.

Document the design, development setup, and troubleshooting steps for services.

Produce high-quality complex deliverables with minimal input and supervision.

Participate in reviewing design and code for other team members.

Participate in the development process from definition to deployment.

Write, review, and maintain code.

Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality full-stack code (React, Golang).

Assist in defining and constantly improving the web architecture for our products.

Develop and iterate on a full software stack.

Perform code reviews for team deliverables to ensure code follows documented standards and best practices.

Communicate and interact with product managers and end users.

Help evolve systems architecture to consistently improve development efficiency.

Work with the QA Team to develop testing protocols to identify and correct challenges.

Mentor other developers on best practices, peer program, and code review.

Work with a small team on cutting-edge research and development projects.

Work with product owners and end-users to clarify specifications and get feedback.

Prepare unit test cases and validate the results for accuracy.

Collaborate with other teams to ensure system coherence and scalability.

Needed skills

JS Framework experience with React is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Java 8.
Understanding of the Spring platform.
Basic web service development experience (RESTful).
Basic experience in Oracle PL/SQL.
Familiarity with Npm or yarn build tool.
Knowledge of Jboss application server for local deployment/development.
Knowledge of Apache HTTP server for local deployment/development.

Education:

Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Graduate program in computer engineering, computer science, engineering, or information technology.

Experience:

Exposure to full-stack development.
Familiarity with applicable software, systems, and processes including JAVA, HTML, CSS, and React.
Basic understanding of object-oriented programming and UI design.
