Full Job Description

The Timetabling & Examinations team is a busy team whose core focus and responsibility are the management and delivery of the academic timetable and the arrangement and co-ordination of examinations for the University.

Alongside business as usual and project activity supporting key elements of the Education and Employability Strategy, we are about to embark on a critical transition to a new timetabling system over the next 12-18 months, a significant challenge but one which provides the opportunity to further enhance the timetable product and the offer to our staff and students.

So, what will the role involve?, We are looking to recruit a Grade 6 Timetabling Data Officer on a permanent contract. You will report to the Timetabling Systems & Data Manager and will play a key role in the Timetabling System Replacement project, working closely with DIT Solution Architects, Business Change Leads, and key stakeholders across the university. You will also support business as usual activities of the timetable cycle, with a focus on data quality and timetable KPIs, reporting, systems maintenance, and enhancement.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven, and resourceful individual who is experienced in using their data reporting and manipulation prowess to relay highly technical information in an accessible format to a wide audience. You will have a keen eye for detail, be quick to understand the new timetabling system, and serve as a subject matter expert on the system for the team and the wider university. An analytical approach and a strong commitment to continually improving service delivery is essential, as is the ability to support the continual evolvement and processes of the team.

Collectively we want to improve and expand on the Universities approach to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI). It will be part of this role to contribute towards creating an inclusive culture where all our students and staff recognise themselves in those that surround them and can bring their whole selves to the University.
