Full Job Description

At Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust there is an exciting opportunity to work within our newly established Tobacco Dependence Service, where you will become an integral team member improving physical health for people supported in mental health inpatient services.
The role involves working across hospital sites completing assessments and follow up advice relating to nicotine replacement therapy and to quit smoking where expressed. To fulfil the role a passion and desire to support patients with complex mental health diagnosis enhance physical health is essential.
Full training to support the role will be provided. If you are excited at the though of helping to shape a new service, we would love to hear from you., § Act as a smoke free champion and positive role model by promoting our Trust's smoke free policy and smoke free message through their day-to-day work and maintaining a strong clinical Prescence.
§ Work with people to change their behaviours in order to improve their health.
§ Provide advice, guidance, and support to clinical staff, including assisting in providing training and teaching to reduce harm from tobacco, supporting the promotion and delivery of smoke free settings
§ Support colleagues within clinical teams to maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping regarding individualised tobacco treatment plans and smoke free support provided during an inpatient stay
§ Respond effectively to referrals within stated timescales
§ Work independently with people using inpatient services, within the framework of our policies and procedures, recognising when there is a need to defer to a more senior member of staff for advice and support
