Full Job Description

This exciting new role will contribute to the delivery of the LGT Stop Smoking Service objectives and the wider objectives of the Trust in a team providing high-quality, expert stop smoking interventions to inpatients, outpatients, visitors and staff.

The Tobacco Dependence Treatment (TDT) Coordinator will support the delivery of the smoking element of the NHS LTP at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE) or University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) based upon the Ottawa and CURE Models of Smoking Cessation., We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual who can produce results in a challenging environment. As the TDT Coordinator it will be your responsibility to assist in the delivery of the TDT service and to support the TDT advisors.

This proactive role includes assessing patients and delivering tailored advice and support to smokers who are admitted to either Lewisham (UHL) or Greenwich (QE) hospitals. You will be expected to be able to communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors to promote the service whilst supporting the wards to deliver timely interventions., 1. Improving representation at senior levels of staff with disabilities, from black, Asian, and ethnic minorities background, identify as LGBTQ+ and women, through improved recruitment and leadership development
2. Widening access (anchor institution) and employability
3. Improving the experience of staff with disability
4. Improving the EDI literacy and confidence of trust staff through training and development
5. Making equalities mainstream

Candidates with experience of health promotion or customer service would be ideally suited to this role, as would individuals with experience in the hospital setting. Full training in smoking cessation is available but knowledge and experience in the field is desirable.
