Full Job Description

We are recruiting a Tobacco Treatment Advisor to join the Trusts established QUIT team offering a specialist mental health tobacco treatment service in Barnsley. The post holder will be responsible for providing help and support for mental health inpatients, community patients and Trust staff to cut down or stop smoking as part of the QUIT Service and Healthy Hospitals Programme., Work across acute mental health inpatient wards and community mental health settings in Barnsley, offering evidence-based practical support

- Work independently and as part of a small team to plan, deliver and document treatment care plans in a timely manner for mental health patients and NHS staff accessing the QUIT Service in Barnsley

- Engage people living with severe mental health illness in behaviour change and individualised care for tobacco dependence and smoking cessation.

- Use interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain good working relationships with patients and staff in NHS settings.

- Proactively raise awareness of the QUIT Service, Smokefree Policy and support that is available to patients and staff

The successful candidate will have experience of working with people with severe mental health conditions and working within NHS hospital or community settings. They will be motivated, able to work on their own initiative and be enthusiastic about promoting the Trusts QUIT Service and Smokefree Policy through day-to-day work. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to use IT/computers to complete admin and data tasks to a good standard.
