Full Job Description

Role: The main purpose of the role is to support Injection Moulding SMED by ensuring all tooling, hoses, inserts, cylinders, lifting equipment and any other ancillaries required by the production team to carry out an injection moulding tool change are available in the correct position and in condition to run in production.,

  • Check EPICOR displays for due tooling
  • Check all serviceable parts of tools are in condition to run.
  • Handle movements of all tooling to and from production and if time permits the toolroom.
  • Provide good Communication for key departments (production and planning) and report on tooling availability.
  • Moving tools into the toolroom and placing them in their correct positions after the work is completed.
  • Basic cleaning of moulding and extrusion tooling components.
  • Assist the Toolmakers to ensure planned maintenance check times are met in accordance with agreed standards.
  • Assist the toolmakers to ensure tools are maintained to the highest standards within the bounds of the roles responsibility.
  • Ensure all relevant data is captured and entered onto appropriate 'electronic' systems
  • Ensure all agreed safe methods of working are followed at all times, report near misses or Big Six hazards in order to prevent potential accidents.
  • Ensure that production team leaders are updated with the progress of any tooling issues likely to effect the production plan.
  • Ensure that high levels of housekeeping are maintained within the working areas.
  • Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers.
  • Participate in improvement activities such as SMED, Kaizen (continuous improvement) and 6S activities.

    Basic mechanical engineering experience.
  • Crane and FLT licences.
  • Knowledge of moulding and extrusion tooling.
  • Computer literate.
  • Demonstratable practical problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Document all relevant data on QUALITY DATABASE, EPICOR, or IFS.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental standards for self and others.

  • Monday - Thursday 2:00pm-10:00pm and Fridays 12:00pm-6:00pm.
