Tooling Co-ordinator (Temporary)

As a tooling coordinator, you will help support the growth of tooling ideas and create a digital library of all items used in the manufacturing process. The role has two aspects to it; firstly, you will work closely with our Manufacturing Engineers to audit, log, and identify all durable items that support and uphold the manufacturing stages. Secondly you will be fundamental in driving the vision forward using tool management software to understand usages, rework programs and cost to support individual manufacturing operations. What will you be doing?

As a tooling coordinator, the main objective will be to catalogue fixtures and durable items to manufacture all components at Howmet Leicester. Working with your direct manager, you will create an embed a numerical logging system where a digital library of all inventories will be stored. As the project moves forward once all inventory is logged, you will implement a QR code rework scheme that will control costs linked to EDI ordering via Howmet's ERP systems. You will also work with our tooling consignment supplier, grouping all durable, consignment, calibration equipment and PPE items to manage stock levels and costs.

You will also work with our CIP engineer to capture any savings where we will track and realise over an incremental 12-month period.
