Full Job Description

The Total Placement Service (TPS) Business Team is responsible for administering contracts and payments for a wide range of accommodation placements for children in care and care leavers. The team is looking to recruit to a full time TPS Business Officer, on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2026, to develop and maintain the business systems and data processes for the purchase of resources for children and families. This post will support senior managers and colleagues by offering specialist advice for joint-funded placements and services in Social Care, Education and Health. Additionally, the role involves providing expert guidance on business and reporting systems to improve service delivery and ensure financial and contractual compliance., This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.

  • High motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Capability to meet strict deadlines and targets, prioritise tasks and plan effectively
  • Proficiency in creating complex spreadsheets, analysing data, and preparing contractual documentation
  • Maintenance of Microsoft Forms and Power Automate Flows linked to Excel files
  • Experience with financial and contractual procedures
  • Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the business and work under pressure
  • Ability to resolve and manage complex queries
  • Knowledge and use of databases
  • Awareness of Data Protection and confidentiality issues.
