The Role:
Hampshire Trading Standards Service is looking to recruit three dynamic and enthusiastic officers to form a new Investigations Team.
In this exciting and rewarding role you will be utilising your self-motivation and natural curiosity to assess information and intelligence received by the service from consumers; business and other agencies, which can cover a multitude of different trading sectors and consumer protection issues, both civil and criminal.
You will effectively explore and implement various interventions to achieve legal compliance through effective communication, persuasion and ultimately enforcement. Experience of conducting criminal investigations is desirable, as is the necessary confidence and competency to interact professionally and effectively with businesses and members of the public alike.
Being results-focussed and excited by the opportunity to make a difference, you will utilise problem solving skills to identify practical solutions, based on sound judgement and reasoning. You will provide detailed advice on the relevant legislation, conduct inspections of businesses to ensure compliance with the law and ultimately take formal enforcement action in such circumstance whereby significant criminal offences have been alleged.
With a relevant formal qualification or equivalent experience, you will be supported and equipped to take on a new challenge and have a positive impact on the residents and businesses of Hampshire.
If successful you will be provided extensive opportunities to undertake formal professional and technical training and development, in addition to on-the-job learning.
