Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised Network Management officer to take on responsibility for overseeing temporary traffic management on the public highway within the parameters of the Traffic Management Act 2004, New Road and Street Works Act 1991, the Highways Act 1980 and the various code of practices. Perform NRSWA duties and learning to maintain the Local Street Gazetteer. Croydon operates a Permit Scheme therefore an understanding of how it operates will be an advantage as will a working knowledge of the Street Manager software system. The role will also cover nrswa duties as well as LSG maintaining.

Reporting to the Senior Permits and Street Works officer. You will represent the Council at senior level meetings and work closely with other members of the Highways Network Management Team, whose tasks are varied and wide ranging. You will be part of an enthusiastic team which is committed to high standards of working.

This is a demanding and rewarding role which will bring benefits to people who live and work in Croydon. The successful candidate will have a formal qualification in a relevant subject and/or comprehensive relevant post experience.

Grade 10, (£40,833 - £42,840)

Full time: 36 hours per week

This is a key post within the Sustainable Communities, Regeneration & Economic Recovery Directorate. The post holder will play a significant role in delivering the traffic management of utility companies and third parties works within an area of 87km² that extends from Upper Norwood in the north to Old Coulsdon in the south which is supported by a road network of 726km.
