Full Job Description

Come and work for a rewarding employer. Gloucestershire County Council has a vacancy for a Traffic Engineer to work on parking projects to join the dynamic and busy Parking Services Team.

The Parking Services Team is responsible for on and some off street parking, bus lane and moving traffic enforcement in the county and plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Gloucestershire's highways are free flowing and safe.

You will be responsible for delivering large and small scale parking related schemes within the county. These schemes will include large scale area wide controlled parking zones as well as working on designing and auditing bus lanes and smaller scale parking projects.

To be successful you will need to have excellent stakeholder and project management skills as well as a detailed knowledge of highway engineering, in particular knowledge of traffic signs and markings. Experience of report writing, including site reports is essential. You will be expected to lead at public engagements events and work with senior managers, councillors and directors and other key stakeholders within and outside of the authority.
