Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Trainee or Advanced Clinical Practitioner post within the Dermatology Chronic Diseases. The post is based in the Newcastle Department of Dermatology, at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The successful candidate will work in an autonomous capacity alongside the medical team to provide high quality care to our patients. They will assess, diagnose & treat skin diseases for a wide range of patients with complex health needs. The ability to work independently, have a positive "can do" attitude and be able to use own initiative is essential to the role. The successful candidate will be offered a supportive environment that is committed to support their ongoing clinical development, education, and further study.

They will become an integral part of our dermatology team, managing a caseload of patients requiring dermatological interventions across the region and following agreed pathways. On completion of ACP training, they will work without direct supervision to plan, organise and deliver expert care using advanced clinical reasoning, critical thinking reflection and analysis to inform their practice. They will also contribute to the development of dermatology patient Pathways. They will also be an active participant in Audit and research within the dermatology department.

  • 37 Hours 30 Minutes/Week, To provide enhanced continuity and high standard of management for patients requiring care across the Trust whilst in a continuing training post.

  • To contribute to the development of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner role [ACP]

  • To work across organisational and professional boundaries to improve the quality of patient care.

  • To support the future Advanced Clinical Practitioners role.
