Fulham Mortuary provides services to Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow Councils covering a body storage facility, a full post-mortem service for HM Coroner and the Home Office, facilities for viewings and a police identification facility. The Mortuary is classified as a level 3 hazard unit which handles high risk post mortems. The mortuary is also a Designated Disaster Mortuary which is part of the London Mass Fatalities Framework.   • To provide a high-quality mortuary service including release and receipt of deceased and organising viewings for relatives.
  • To assist in the majority of technical procedures related to post-mortem examinations covering adults, road traffic accident victims, suspicious deaths, high risk and forensic cases.
  • To liaise with staff, Coroner's officers, funeral directors, families and other stakeholders.
  • To work towards gaining qualifications which will lead to attaining the level 3 Diploma and then level 4 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology awarded by Royal Institute of Public Health.
  • The successful candidate will be required to attend the mortuary on a daily basis from Monday to Friday. On-call, overtime and weekend work for Special post mortems may be required and are remunerated. Please refer to the Role Profile for more information.
