Full Job Description

This role is designed to provide comprehensive training and development in residential and commercial property surveying. As a Trainee Building Surveyor, you will have the chance to learn from experienced professionals within our team, gaining hands-on experience in conducting detailed home buyer reports (Level 2 & 3) and supporting various aspects of commercial surveying as required by the department., 1. Assist in Building Inspections: Accompany experienced surveyors on-site visits to inspect buildings, identify structural issues, and assess compliance with building regulations and safety standards. Aim to complete independent inspections within agreed timeframe following training.

2. Survey Documentation: Learn to prepare detailed reports and documentation based on site inspections, outlining findings, recommendations, and remedial actions. Once trained, independently write reports with an 80% QA first time pass rate. Returning reports to customers within agreed timeframe.

3. Weekly Targets: Upon completion of induction attend a minimum of 6 inspections per week.

4. Project Support: Support surveyors in project planning, including scheduling inspections, coordinating with clients and contractors, and ensuring deadlines are met.

5. Continuous Learning and Development: Receive ongoing mentorship and guidance from dedicated line managers and senior surveyors, who provide insight into best practices and industry standards.

6. Training Opportunities: Attend workshops, seminars, and in-house training sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge in building surveying.

7. Business Development: Give input into the wider business development strategy to grow the business.

· Educational Background: A degree or diploma in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.

· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders.

· Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to accurately assess building conditions and produce comprehensive reports.

· Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment, multitask, and prioritise responsibilities to meet project deadlines.

· Team Player: Collaborative attitude with a willingness to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to team objectives. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

· Organisation Skills: Excellent organisational and communication skills whilst being to effectively manage time to meet deadlines.

· Driving License: A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
