Full Job Description

The post holder will be employed by Sunderland Counselling Service and will work as part of Sunderland Community Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Service (SCCAYPMHS). They will work with children and young people who have a range of common mental health problems in primary care providing high volume / low intensity CBT based interventions in a training capacity. They will use traditional, effective and innovative, treatment methods. The post holder will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities. The postholder will need to meet targets that are set within the service and toundertake and successfully complete training on the child and young persons WP Training Course (Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health and Emotional Well-being Studies in Community and Primary Care Environments). They will undertake regular scheduled clinical skills supervision and case management supervision to
meet both the requirements of the service and the training course.This will help develop their work to support the mental health needs of children, young people and families. This work will entail complete mental health assessments and plan, implementation and evaluation, of the specialist packages of care. A part of this will be to engage vulnerable and hard to reach groups. The post holder will work at the complex interface between universal and specialist children's service provision as part of a multi agency team, ensuring that all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed where required. In addition the post holder will complete full, accurate and contemporaneous records within set timescales, provide timely and accurate data to monitor service performance and maintain information about own caseload and contribute to the maintenance of information for the team workload to support planning and management.
