Full Job Description

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) to join our team across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire (BSW). As a Trainee CWP, you will provide low-intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) interventions for children and young people, including:

  • Behavioural treatments for anxiety
  • Guided parent-led self-help
  • Behavioural activation for depression
  • This is a unique role within the children and young people's workforce in BSW, where you will work under robust supervision alongside other Getting Help colleagues and be supported by a Clinical Team Manager. As we continue to develop our low-intensity mental health services, there will be opportunities for collaborative work with other CWPs (both trainees and graduates) across the region. Oxford NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Reading's Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) programme, is offering a one-year, fixed-term training opportunity for a Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP). This role is part of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and supports the national goal to expand access to evidence-based mental health interventions for children, young people, and their families, as outlined in theFive Year Forward View for Mental Health., There is one post available across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire (BSW) and clinical work will be conducted from our base in Keynsham with a possibility of travel to another base for supervision and meetings if, and when, required. Successful candidates will be based in the Getting Help part of our Community Team and will be offering evidence based, low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI CBT) interventions under robust supervision.
