Full Job Description

This training role is based within the new Anxiety and Depression in Young People (AnDY) Research Clinic in Oxford. The Clinic is a collaboration between Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, University of Oxford, and University of Reading.

The postholder will work within community CAMHS as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering high-quality, brief, outcome focused evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties (anxiety and depression), under supervision.

The academic course and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service. The university will provide training in the evidence based low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy interventions for children, young people and their families, whilst the service will provide the clinical work required to pass the course.

The postholder will attend all taught and self-study days required by the university and work in the service for the remaining days of the week.

The postholder will be flexible in meeting the needs of the service by carrying out clinical work across the county (as the service requires) and may need to travel to other bases to attend supervision with colleagues., In this role you will conduct person centred assessments using digital technology or face to face and will determine the best course of treatment for individuals with the support and guidance of experienced supervisors. Working under supervision you will provide high volume, low intensity evidence based psychological interventions, including guided self-help and group work, within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the Trust's policies and procedures.

Keeping records of clinical activity, collecting outcome measures and patient evaluations are core to this role.

Alongside the clinical work you will attend the University of Reading CWP Training programme to complete the academic and clinical requirements of this course.

In this role, no two days are the same. If you enjoy variety and a challenge, this is the perfect role for you. We're a friendly and approachable team, who are incredibly supportive; we know how important it is to have a good team around you to succeed and be happy at work.
