Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, to join our team as a Trainee Colposcopist/Gynaecology Oncology Nurse. This is a trainee role and will commence at a band 6. We would ask that you can demonstrate a commitment to the training package We are a small, hard-working, passionate gynaecology team running nurse led clinics in fertility, colposcopy, urogynaecology, oncology and early pregnancy. We offer induction, ongoing support, training and development to all our staff. Currently the gynaecology outpatient clinics runs Monday-Friday 0800-1800 and the training for this post is predominately at our Hinchingbrooke site. All of our posts may involve occasional cross site working, to meet the needs of the service.

  • Please note we are only able to accept applications from those with a live NMC registration or UK nursing students awaiting their PIN as we are unable to support OSCE at this time, On becoming an accredited Nurse Colposcopist, the post holder will provide an autonomous nurse-led service and will work with the other nurse colposcopists,
  • The post-holder will offer and maintain a comprehensive service by seeing women, performing investigations and treatments as appropriate and where necessary make clinical decisions in relation to best evidence based practice. The post holder will have the responsibility of ensuring safe clinical practice and confidentiality is carried out in the clinical environment as directed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), national, regional and local protocols.
