Full Job Description

The Mind Mate Support Team (MMST) is part of the governments trailblazer project aiming to put new Mental Health Support Teams in education settings. We aspire to improve the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in response to the governments Green Paper (2017) to transform Young Peoples Mental Health by focussing on early intervention., Work within standard operating procedures(SOP) / pathways to manage their own workload independently but with supervisor support within the clinical area. They will support the assessment of children & young people ( CYP) and implementation of programmes of care ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence & knowledge.

Post holders will work within SOPs and pathways in which they have received training in order to be competent. Postholders, under supervision and with support, will develop knowledge & practice skills in delivering evidence-based intervention for CYP in education setting with mild to moderate mental health problems. Helping CYP within the settings who present with more severe problems to access more specialist services.

Supporting/facilitating staff in education settings to identify and where appropriate manage issues related to mental health & wellbeing Working with education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services.
