Full Job Description

Electricity North West is looking for Trainee Fault Technicians to join our inclusive and collaborative team in Salford., As part of the South Operations Team, you'll be responsible for providing the first response to unplanned outages and safety-critical calls across the region.

You will do this in accordance with safe working practices whilst delivering exceptional customer service and rapid restoration of supplies to exceed company targets.

As a Trainee Fault Technician role, you can expect to undertake :

  • Provision of exceptional customer service, and being sensitive to the needs of diverse customer groups, including vulnerable customers

  • First response to customer-reported issues at the service position

  • Operational activities related to LV and HV Network restoration, including switching, fusing, linking and deployment of LV transient management equipment

  • Primary site response in support of transient management

  • LV fault management, including the location of faults and coordination of the activities of industrial teams and contractors, whilst proactively keeping customers informed

  • Deployment of Generation to support restoration times and individual customer needs as required

    To succeed in this flexible role, you will need to be qualified to a minimum of City&Guilds L2 or above, and LV Fault Management authorisation is desirable.


  • You will also require :
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the electricity distribution network

  • Understanding of associated Codes of Practice

  • To be competent in the use of technology and possess excellent communication skills

    This is a full-time role that comes with a favourable salary and benefits package., As a vital member of our team and in return for your expertise, inclusive approach and commitment, we'll provide a favourable salary of up to £42,941.
