Full Job Description

The post holder will work with patients who have a range of mild to moderate anxiety and depression, and severe common mental health problems for which high intensity psychological interventions are demonstrated to be clinically effective.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds, disabilities and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder will deliver evidence-based therapy in primary care, to clients who have a range of mild to moderate, and severe common mental health problems.

The post holder will deliver the evidence based interventions via differing modalities such as a group setting, face to face, and e-clinics.

The post holder will participate in caseload management on a monthly basis

The post holder will participate in clinical supervision on a weekly basis.

The post holder will adhere to an activity contract agreed with the service manager at appraisal.

The post holder will be responsible for maintaining continued professional development for professional accreditation and keeping a log of all related CPD

The post holder will be seen as a skilled practitioner who will be a resource for the team and a source of clinical excellence and advice

We are recruiting for a Trainee High Intensity CBT Therapist who wishes to join our team. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care. Applicants must be available to commence their employment by the end of January 2025.

There is an exciting opportunity to join NHS Talking Therapies (for anxiety and depression) Isle of Wight and train with either University of Reading or Canterbury and Christchurch University (this will be decided closer to the start date). The successful candidate will provide high intensity therapy as approved by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

Are you eligible to apply?

The course you will be completing will either be with the University of Reading or Canterbury and Christchurch University as part of this role is a Level 2 accredited course with BABCP. This means that upon completion trainees will meet criteria to apply for provisional accreditation as a CBT therapist with the BABCP.

To be appointable to this post, you must meet the criteria for CBT training and also have a BABCP-recognised professional background in mental health or related areas.

There will be an expectation to travel to and from Reading for this course., A core profession as outlined by BABCP which includes BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing or BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy. Or BA (Hons) Social Work or Probation Service DipPS

or

a KSA

and

an evidence based PWP qualification, preferably at post graduate certificate level, from an accredited training provider.

(Trainee applications must have a core profession or 2 years' experience as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP))

Interviews are likely to take place at the beginning of December 2024. As part of the interview, you will be expected to complete a CBT assessment role play.

The salary during your training will be 39,606 per annum (based on 24/25 agenda for change pay scales), £46148.00 to £52809.00 Yearly
