Full Job Description

You will be providing customer care to people of all ages, supervising activities, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the pool area, and ensuring the safe handling and set up of pool equipment. And of course, when needed - you'll help to save lives.

You'll need to have excellent customer service skills as you'll be interacting heavily with our customers. So, whether you've earned that experience in a leisure or another customer facing environment, you'll be a people person who is happy dealing with people of all ages and backgrounds., As a lifeguard you'll naturally need to be safety conscious, vigilant, and able to deal with pressurised situations. Lastly, you'll need to have strong swimming skills.

Serco have UK wide leisure contracts which include unique customers such as The National Water Sports Centre, Lilleshall National Sports Centre, Bisham Abbey and Basingstoke Aquadrome to name but a few! Our teams are hard-working, friendly and above all passionate about leisure and fitness! We provide leisure services on behalf of community leisure trusts, local authorities, universities, and sporting associations such as Sport England. Our facilities include national sports complexes, outdoor activity venues, community leisure centres, gyms, swimming pools, water sports, tennis courts, golf courses, and conference centres. Our ultimate goal is to help people of all abilities and ages to maintain and improve their fitness levels. Work Pattern: 30 hours per week across early, late and weekend shifts to cover business operational hours Salary: Upto £11.47 per hour + excellant benefits Here at The Buckinghamshire Leisure Trust our goal is to get more people, more active, more often. We provide affordable access to a wide range of sports and leisure facilities to support healthier and happier people across all segments of the local community. To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for Trainee Lifeguards. We would like to hear from candidates who would like to start off with the day to day tasks of the Leisure Centre, learn about the Lifeguard role and be put through a course to then hold the title of a fully qualified Lifeguard. If this is the career path you would like to go down this is a fantastic position to start off with. Once the course is complete and you pass successfully your position as a Lifeguard means you'll be an important part of life here at the centre as you ensure that everyone can use the pool in safety and that they have access to everything they need to enjoy their visit. Without you there can't be any pool activity. But you won't be working alone. Our leisure centre has a close knit and supportive team, all working towards providing an inclusive leisure hub for the entire community. You will also receive fantastic training and development opportunities and benefits including free leisure access and other various discounts. Serco manages these facilities on a day-to-day basis on behalf of the Trust., A world of opportunity: Our lifeguards are integral to the running of our centres, so as well progressing into senior lifeguard positions you can move into other centre management roles in one of our 55 facilities.
