Main duties of the job

To provide high quality nursing care and participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care needs for the patient group.To deliver compassionate person-centred care, and treat patients, service users, their families and their carers with consideration, dignity and the respect you would want for yourself or your family.

To provide relevant forms of care with minimal supervision and participate in the supervision and teaching and assessment of other health care professionals. To play an active part in the continuing development of the department and contribute to the maintenance of an environment conducive to the delivery of high standards of patient care, by promoting good communication and relationships between staff, patients, relatives and visitors.

You don't need to have Lymphoedema experience as we are committed to supporting your development. We are seeking to recruit a full time Band 5 trainee Lymphoedema practitioner (Registered Nurse or Allied Health Care Professional) working towards the role becoming a Band 6 on completion of competencies.

You will be working under the supervision the experienced and highly skilled Lymphoedema and Red Legs Specialist team and you will receive support and supervision.The successful candidate will act as an expert resource to Hospital, Community and Social care staff. The applicant will develop the ability and willingness to participate in Lymphoedema education programmes with other team members.Your main role will be providing support and Lymphoedema management to people living with this complex, distressing chronic condition.

You will be expected to maintain clinical skills and competence, you will have the ability to work unsupervised, be able to prioritise your workload, have excellent communication skills and the interest and enthusiasm to promote best practice in Lymphoedema. As a team player, you'll be able to prioritise your work to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach.
