Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to train with NHS East Cheshire talking therapies as a PWP. As trainee PWP you will provide evidence based treatment for adults and will collaborate with a range of professionals in physical health, mental health and social care as well as with community organisations. You will support people with depression and/or anxiety disorders by: conducting patient assessment and treatment sessions helping identify areas where the person wishes to change how they feel, think or behave carrying out risk assessments providing phone, online, face-to-face and group support liaising with other agencies and signposting patients to useful services, such as housing and employment You will work with patients on a one-to-one basis or in groups or workshops. You may be based in a GP practice, healthcare centre or community venue such as a library or leisure centre. You may also work from home in some instances. You will be provided with ongoing supervision to help you engage, depression disorders. Both trainee and qualified PWPs play a critical role in helping shape the future direction of the Talking Therapies service, Successful candidates will be motivated, resilient, efficient, empathic, supportive and will be required to have a good understanding of the needs of local populations and familiarise themselves with local knowledge of services. It is not an essential requirement but it is desirable for applicants to have an understanding of the local area & services available to clients For this role we are seeking applicants with significant experience of supporting and working with people facing a range of barriers, mental health difficulties and social issues. The trainee PWP role can be challenging as it requires working fulltime, managing a case load of clients and your own diary. You will be adapting to working with a new team & external services and working with a number of new systems & databases. As part of the

in self-reflection, seek and respond to feedback, and develop your professional knowledge and skills. The role involves undertaking initial assessments and holding a high volume clinical caseload. In this training role, you will provide Step 2 Guided Self-Help low intensity interventions whilst undertaking studies at Liverpool John Moores University. Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners support people experiencing depression and / or anxiety disorders, including people with long term physical health conditions such as diabetes and respiratory problems. This training post will equip you to provide guided low intensity interventions. You will be supported in the completion of both your academic study and clinical delivery by skilled and experienced supervisors. We are looking for people with a commitment to deliver high quality evidence-based assessments and interventions, a willingness to learn new skills and a, desire to improve the health and wellbeing of people anxiety and/or, role you will regularly be giving and receiving feedback/ constructive criticism & role playing with peers. You will also be completing a post graduate course which requires 100% attendance and will complete academic work which includes completing a portfolio, essays, roleplay based assessments, recording sessions with clients and presentations. Whilst there are opportunities to complete university work on assigned study days, it is an expectation that trainees complete university work outside of working hours.
