The Hinckley Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) will be a brand-new purpose-built two floor health facility situated in the heart of Hinckley. The CDC will operate 7 days a week and will offer an extensive set of diagnostic services including imaging, cardio-respiratory, audiology, phlebotomy and endoscopy to meet the healthcare needs of the local population of Hinckley and its surrounding areas. The CDC will offer a multi - professional approach providing the right care in right place by a skilled and expert team.
It will focus on the provision of high volume, low complexity care across a range of specialities , promising increased access to healthcare services improving overall experience, increased staff wellbeing, training and development opportunities.
This is a role for a Trainee Senior Respiratory Physiologist, who has the knowledge and experience to work independently and to support the ongoing training needs of the wider cardio-respiratory team
They will work as part of a designated clinical team, delivering health care that focuses on the direct needs of the patient, as well as acting as a work-based supervisor and trainer for the newly appointed Trainee Associate Cardio-Respiratory Practitioners
Band 5/6 dependent of experience, We require a dedicated and enthusiastic workforce committed to leading the way in innovative healthcare. The candidate will be trained in performing and interpreting;
+ Full pulmonary function tests with administration of bronchodilator therapy where indicated
And be willing if the opportunity allows to perform (and interpret) more complex respiratory/sleep investigations such as;
+ Cardio-Respiratory Exercise Tests (CPETS)
+ Bronchial challenge tests
+ Blood gas analysis
+ Sleep studies
+ CPAP therapy

+ To ensure all equipment and resources are maintained to regulated standards and adhere to both health and safety and infection control policies.
+ To adhere to professional codes of practice and perform the role to national and local standards.
+ To promote regular quality assurance (QA).
+ To evaluate and develop clinical practice within a specialty ensuring compliance with national and local guidelines and frameworks.
+ To have an in-depth knowledge of specialist equipment operation and to use it to its maximum capability.
+ To actively develop service standards including implementation of National Service Framework / NICE guidelines
+ To promote evidence based practice and clinical effectiveness utilising local and national standards of practice and guideline
+ Comply and be aware of all aspects of the Clinical Governance agenda e.g. Risk, audit, evidence based practice (EBP), patient involvement.
+ Facilitate a culture of quality, continuous innovation, improvement and productivity within the specialty
+ To have a sound and current theoretical knowledge base and keep up to date with all current developments associated with the specialty and profession.
+ To collaborate with the Team Leaders and Head of Department in identifying opportunities for service development.

Disclosure and Barring Service Check
Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.
The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.
The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
