Full Job Description

Are you ready for the next leap in your career? We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trainee Shift Manager to join our brilliant Production Team!, To support the Production Manager in achieving effective running of the production process on high-speed line area.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Manage smooth delivery of the production plan on time along with correct product quality and focus on the labour variance.

  • Ensure Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) information is gathered, and continuous improvement plans in place and actioned.

  • Ensure availability of materials for production preventing any shortages and downtime.

  • Involvement in NPD product trials and samples.

  • Ensure a safe working environment through the delivery of key enabling activities (e.g. near misses, safety observations, timely completion of investigation actions).

  • Monitor the product quality report any non-conforming ingredients.

  • Maintain to agreed GMP standards and action any non -conformances.

  • Support skills development within the team, ensuring the skill matrix is updated to the correct skill set and succession planning take place.

  • People management responsibility including holiday authorisation, absence, probation reviews, performance and conduct issues

  • Effective shift handovers

  • Deputise for Production Managers in the areas of own experience.

    Experience of working in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment

  • Strong knowledge of H&S, Food Safety, BRC standards and PPE requirements

  • Experience of training and managing a large operational team

  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills

  • Good Microsoft Office skills

  • HACCP (Level 3 Desirable)

  • Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene (Desirable)
